The Moda Four by Four Pillows are a quick, modern and jelly‑roll‑friendly project created for Project Jelly Roll. This free pattern features a clean grid layout built from 2½" strips, forming four‑patch units that come together into a striking, contemporary cushion front. Perfect for coordinated bundles, gradients or scrappy strips, these pillows offer a fast finish with a polished, graphic look.
Designed for confident beginners, the construction is simple and satisfying: sew strip sets, sub‑cut, assemble four‑patches and frame the cushion top. The result is a stylish accent pillow that works beautifully in modern, minimalist or colourful décor schemes.

Fabric requirements:
- 1 x Jelly Roll makes up to 4 pillows (Instructions are for 2 pillows)
- Background: FQ or 1/4 yard for 2 pillows (or 1/3 yard for 4 pillows)
- Lining: 2/3 yard for 1 Pillow / 1 1/2 yard for 2 Pillows / 3 yard for 4 Pillows
- Backing: 2/3 yard for 1 Pillow / 11/2 yard for 2 Pillows / 3 yard for 4 Pillows
- Binding: Optional. 1/4 Yard per pillow
Our standard width fabric can be cut as a Fat Quarter, measuring 50cm x 1/2 the width of the bolt. Above is an example of how your fabric will be received, depending on the quantity ordered.
We also offer a sample service, where you can order 1 single fat quarter of any standard width fabric, to have at home and compare colours. When you are finished, you can send them back to us for a refund (feel free to contact us for more information on this service).
Our fabric can be cut as a Long Quarter, measuring a minimum of 25cm x width of bolt. We will supply the fabric as a continuous length (eg; if you bought 1.25m it will be sent as one piece of fabric).
