Calico is a plain unbleached fabric made from half-processed fibres and is perhaps one of the most versatile fabrics. It is generally cheaper than other fabrics due to it’s unfinished nature and the fact that it remains undyed and raw. It has a lovely natural texture, colour and rustic feel. 

Calico is a perfect fabric for dyeing as well as all types of sewing including quilting and embroidery. It’s often also used for items such as bags, aprons, curtains and home furnishings where daily wear and tear require a more durable fabric.
