Interfacing Fabric

Interfacing is a fabric used often in dressmaking and tailoring to add stability and structure to certain areas of a garment. It's applied, often with an iron, to the inside of the fabric in areas that are subject to stress or need to maintain their shape such as collars, cuffs, waistbands, pockets, shoulder seams, necklines, and hems. Interfacing is also used in home furnishings to add support so that the item doesn't loose shape.
