The Country Cuttings Quilt by Lynne Goldsworthy (@lilysquilts) is a beautifully detailed 64" square project designed to showcase the miniature florals and soft tonal prints of Makower’s Country Cuttings collection. This pattern combines structured patchwork with elegant appliqué, featuring 36 pieced blocks, wide borders, six Dresden plate circles and decorative bias‑cut stems for a refined, heirloom finish.
The quilt begins with fifty sets of Half Square Triangles made using printed and background 6¼" squares and HST templates. These are pieced into 4‑patch units and combined with background squares to create the main blocks. After assembling the quilt centre, narrow floral sashing and wide background borders frame the design. The outer border is embellished with bias‑cut stems and Dresden plates, each finished with fused and stitched centres for a polished look.
A confident‑beginner to intermediate project, perfect for makers who enjoy combining patchwork precision with decorative appliqué.

Our standard width fabric can be cut as a Fat Quarter, measuring 50cm x 1/2 the width of the bolt. Above is an example of how your fabric will be received, depending on the quantity ordered.
We also offer a sample service, where you can order 1 single fat quarter of any standard width fabric, to have at home and compare colours. When you are finished, you can send them back to us for a refund (feel free to contact us for more information on this service).
Our fabric can be cut as a Long Quarter, measuring a minimum of 25cm x width of bolt. We will supply the fabric as a continuous length (eg; if you bought 1.25m it will be sent as one piece of fabric).
