The baby lock Primo Cording & Taping Set is a creative expansion kit designed exclusively for the Primo top coverstitch machine. It fits into the Primo’s swing foot, allowing you to feed cords, ribbons and tapes directly under the needles while sewing. This enables precise embellishment, three‑dimensional decorative seams, and the ability to create custom trims in a single operation.
According to baby lock and UK retailers, the set includes six inserts:
- Cording inserts: 1.6 mm, 2 mm, 2.5 mm, 5 mm
- Taping inserts: 5 mm, 8 mm
These inserts guide cords or tapes smoothly into the stitch path, keeping them centred and tensioned. This makes it ideal for:
- Decorative coverstitching
- Swing, serpentine and triple‑swing stitches
- Raised, textured seams
- Creating trims or straps by stitching cord or ribbon without fabric
The set allows you to produce unique 3D effects, perfect for activewear, children’s clothing, decorative garments, and textile art. The inserts swap quickly, giving you flexibility depending on the width and style of embellishment you want to create.
Our standard width fabric can be cut as a Fat Quarter, measuring 50cm x 1/2 the width of the bolt. Above is an example of how your fabric will be received, depending on the quantity ordered.
We also offer a sample service, where you can order 1 single fat quarter of any standard width fabric, to have at home and compare colours. When you are finished, you can send them back to us for a refund (feel free to contact us for more information on this service).
Our fabric can be cut as a Long Quarter, measuring a minimum of 25cm x width of bolt. We will supply the fabric as a continuous length (eg; if you bought 1.25m it will be sent as one piece of fabric).
