baby lock Euphoria Product Review
The baby lock Euphoria is a dedicated coverstitch machine built for sewers who want ready-to-wear garment finishing at home without the setup frustrations that typically come with coverstitch technology. This machine is engineered to baby lock's exacting quality standards and produces the stretchy, professional hems and topstitching you see on shop-bought t-shirts, activewear and loungewear.
ExtraordinAir™ threading is a standout feature - simply press the button and a gust of air carries thread through the chain looper in seconds. Automatic Thread Delivery (ATD) removes manual tension adjustments. Thread the three needles in any order, set the stitch type and start sewing. The machine maintains balanced tension across any fabric weight and any thread type, from lightweight jersey to sweatshirt fleece.
The 5-inch workspace to the right of the needle gives you room for full-size garments, bulky projects and home décor pieces without constant repositioning. Vertical needle penetration protects delicate knits and prevents deflection that slanted-needle machines can cause on stretch fabrics. The 8mm adjustable presser foot height handles thicker and loftier materials, and the drop feed system lowers the feed dogs automatically when you raise the presser foot for hands-free fabric positioning.
Running at 1,500 stitches per minute with automatic cover stitch chaining off, the Euphoria produces clean starts and finishes without messy thread tails. Choose from chain, narrow cover, wide cover or triple cover stitch, adjust stitch length via a single dial, and use the Looper Bypass Port Guide to accommodate specialty or heavy decorative thread. LED lighting illuminates the work area, the built-in thread cutter trims ends cleanly, and the knee lifter leaves both hands free to guide fabric reliably.

Materials and Build Quality
The Euphoria's three needles sit vertically rather than on a slant, penetrating fabric straight up and down. This protects delicate knits, lightweight jersey and activewear fibres from deflection and push damage that slanted-needle machines can cause. The looper mechanism stays aligned and in time throughout sustained use, reducing the likelihood of timing issues or major looper damage. The result is a coverstitch machine that holds its precision across years of garment finishing without needing frequent service adjustments.
baby lock engineered the differential feed with a single-unit feed dog mechanism rather than separated feed systems. This delivers stronger, more consistent fabric handling across lightweight and heavy materials. The differential feed ratio ranges from 0.75:1 (stretching) to 2:1 (gathering), so you can adjust fabric behaviour to match your project without fighting the machine. Even on challenging fabrics that tend to shift or distort, the feed keeps stitch length uniform across the full length of a seam.
Every baby lock machine is engineered to baby lock's exacting quality standards and passes rigorous quality testing before leaving the factory. Safety cut-outs prevent the Euphoria from stitching when the front or side doors are open or when the presser foot is raised, protecting the internal mechanism from operator error.
The Difference is in the Details
Automatic Thread Delivery maintains balanced tension while you sew so that you achieve consistent, perfect stitches every time, no tension adjustments needed. Automatic cover stitch chaining off means clean starts and stops without messy thread tails and the built-in thread cutter trims ends neatly between seams. The extra wide opening of 140mm allows you to easily sew larger sewing projects.
The Euphoria is a reliable industrial-style machine constructed for decades of reliable finishing. The looper system stays aligned and in time throughout sustained use. A 2-year warranty extends to 4 years when you register your machine.
Coverstitch technique rewards a bit of practice and we have the resources to help you build skills without getting stuck. You'll find a detailed tutorial on our YouTube channel covering threading, fabric-specific settings and creative applications for the chain and cover stitches.
The Euphoria is one of the easiest coverstitch machines to use. It's very different from a typical domestic coverstitch machine - it's designed to feel closer to an industrial finishing experience but without the hassle. It's intuitive, consistent and predictable rather than fiddly. The motor and build are solid so even at top sewing speed, it feels secure.

Inside the baby lock Euphoria
ExtraordinAir™ Threading System
A push-button pneumatic system that carries thread through the chain looper with a gust of air. Threading is complete in seconds, removing the most time-consuming step in coverstitch setup.
Automatic Thread Delivery (ATD)
Monitors thread supply and sets correct tension as you sew. Needles can be threaded in any order with no fixed sequence, and no dial adjustment is required when switching between fabric weights or thread types.
Tubular Looper and Bypass Port
The tubular chain looper hides thread guides internally, protecting the thread path from snags and breakage. The Looper Bypass Port Guide accepts specialty or heavy decorative threads that would not pass through the standard route.
Adjustable Presser Foot and Drop Feed
A 8mm presser foot height clears thicker and loftier materials without forcing fabric under the foot. The drop feed system lowers the feed dogs automatically when the foot is raised, keeping fabric positioning fluid.
Knee Lifter and Safety System
The attachable knee lifter raises the presser foot without lifting a hand from the fabric. Safety cut-outs block stitching when doors are open or the presser foot is down, protecting the internal mechanism from mistimed starts.

Frequently Asked Questions
Let us help with the answers.
Do I need a coverstitch machine if I already have a sewing machine and overlocker?
A coverstitch produces the flexible twin-needle hem and topstitching you see on shop-bought knit garments, which a standard sewing machine cannot replicate and an overlocker does not do. If you sew t-shirts, leggings, activewear or any knit garments regularly, a dedicated coverstitch like the Euphoria gives you that ready-to-wear finish.
How does ExtraordinAir™ threading work in practice?
You feed the thread through two guides on top of the machine, press the air threading button, and a gust of compressed air carries the thread through the chain looper in a fraction of a second. No tweezers, no long threading path to trace, no frustration. It is one of the reasons baby lock machines are favoured by sewers who change thread colours frequently.
What types of fabric can the Euphoria handle?
The Euphoria is designed for stretch and knit fabrics first, which is where coverstitch technology matters most. The 8mm presser foot lift height, vertical needle penetration and adjustable differential feed mean it handles lightweight jersey, heavier knits and multi-layer seams without distortion. ATD adjusts tension automatically across different weights.
What is the difference between the Euphoria and a baby lock combination machine?
The Euphoria is a dedicated coverstitch, so it is optimised for one job and does it exceptionally well. Combination machines like the Ovation or Gloria handle overlocking and coverstitch in one unit, which saves space but requires conversion between tasks. A dedicated machine is best if you do high volumes of hemming and topstitching and want to leave the machine set up ready to sew.
Is the Euphoria suitable for beginners to coverstitch?
It is approachable for newcomers thanks to air threading, ATD and the lever-operated needle threader, which together remove the setup barriers that frustrate coverstitch beginners. That said, coverstitch technique itself takes practice. Our team can help you choose the right starting point and offer guidance as you build skills.
Can I use specialty or decorative threads?
Yes. The Looper Bypass Port Guide accommodates heavy or specialty decorative threads that would not feed through the standard threading route. This gives you access to bolder topstitching effects and decorative finishes on the chain and cover stitches.
Our standard width fabric can be cut as a Fat Quarter, measuring 50cm x 1/2 the width of the bolt. Above is an example of how your fabric will be received, depending on the quantity ordered.
We also offer a sample service, where you can order 1 single fat quarter of any standard width fabric, to have at home and compare colours. When you are finished, you can send them back to us for a refund (feel free to contact us for more information on this service).
Our fabric can be cut as a Long Quarter, measuring a minimum of 25cm x width of bolt. We will supply the fabric as a continuous length (eg; if you bought 1.25m it will be sent as one piece of fabric).
