Freaky Familiars is a collaborative Halloween collection from Ruby Star Society, designed by multiple RSS artists and built around the idea of familiars - the magical little animal companions that accompany witches and other spooky characters. The designers reimagined these creatures with a playful, not‑too‑scary twist, creating a modern Halloween range full of personality and charm.

The collection features a lively cast of bats, frogs, cats, goofy spiders and owls, alongside witchy ephemera, friendly jack‑o’-lanterns and refreshed Halloween colourways of popular Ruby Star basics like Starry and Speckled. Melody Miller contributes her iconic “Who Cooks for You” owl print, named after the Barred Owl’s call, while Kimberly Kight’s quirky cereal‑box concept from Egg and Friends becomes a central inspiration for the humour and character of the range.

The palette blends classic Halloween colours - pumpkin orange, spooky black, eggplant purple - with unexpected pops of citron, teal, heliotrope and neon yellow, giving the collection a fresh, contemporary edge. Across 24 Ruby Star Cottons, Freaky Familiars offers both feature prints and versatile coordinates, making it ideal for quilts, bags, accessories, seasonal décor and playful patchwork.
