PFAFF admire air 7000 Product Review
The PFAFF admire™ air 7000 is a premium coverlock machine, packed with advanced features for exceptional sewing results. It's engineered to meet the demands of ambitious and experienced dressmakers and garment sewers looking for exceptional stitch quality, reliability and ease of use.
The PFAFF admire™ air 7000 is engineered to deliver uncompromising performance across every project. Its versatile 5, 4, 3 and 2-thread capability allows you to achieve everything from delicate rolled hems on fine fabrics to robust 5-thread safety stitches for beautifully durable garment construction.
With 26 expertly designed stitch programs, you'll have every professional finish at your fingertips, including precision overlocking, chainstitch, coverstitch hems, rolled hems and decorative edge finishes. Simply select your stitch on the intuitive full-colour touchscreen and the admire™ air 7000 automatically optimises the thread tensions, stitch length and recommended settings, taking the guesswork out of setup and ensuring exceptional results with minimal effort.
For complete creative control, adjustable stitch length, cutting width and presser foot pressure allow you to fine-tune every stitch to suit the fabric, technique and finish you're aiming for. The result is beautifully consistent, professional-quality sewing across everything from lightweight silks to substantial knitwear and structured garments.
The standout feature is one-touch air threading. Instead of manually threading each looper by hand, you push a button and the loopers thread themselves in seconds using a jet of air. Differential feed keeps knit and stretch fabrics flat as they pass under the needle, preventing the wavy, stretched edges that let a finished garment down.
The 123mm by 64mm workspace gives you room for bulky seams and larger projects and the included extension table adds around 30cm of extra surface for coverstitch work and bigger makes. Five bright LED lights illuminate the sewing area so you can see stitch placement clearly. A free arm provides access for sleeves, cuffs and children's clothing and the hands-free knee lifter raises the presser foot so you can keep both hands on the fabric. A built-in safety lock stops the machine sewing with the cover open or the presser foot raised.

Materials and Build Quality
The admire air 7000 uses a reinforced internal frame that keeps the machine stable when sewing at speed. The 11kg body gives it enough weight to hold firm through heavier construction seams without vibration affecting stitch quality, which matters when you are feeding several layers of fabric through a moving blade.
The air-threading system pushes thread through the looper channels automatically. A threading wire is included to clear the air tubes of lint or to pass heavier decorative threads through, keeping the system working cleanly over time. This is the engineering feature that sets the machine apart from a standard serger.
An integrated upper cutter trims the fabric edge as you sew and can be disengaged for coverstitch and other techniques where you do not want the edge cut. The differential feed system uses two sets of feed dogs moving at different rates to keep stretch and knit fabrics flat, and adjustable cutting width and presser foot pressure let you match the mechanism to the fabric in front of you.
The Difference Is In The Details
With the PFAFF® admire™ air 7000 one-touch air-threading feature, you can effortlessly thread the machine loopers with the simple push of a button. Speed control lets you set a maximum pace and sew with confidence, while the thread cutter trims the chain quickly between seams. Snap-on presser feet change with a push, so switching techniques takes seconds rather than minutes.
PFAFF machines are engineered for lasting performance, with a robust internal design that maintains stitch precision even with regular use. With proper care and servicing, you can rely on consistent, high-quality results for years to come. This model has a 2-year parts labour warranty. The Sewing Studio is an authorised service centre for all PFAFF machines.
Automatic tension is set for you the moment you choose a stitch on the touchscreen, so each of the 26 programs runs with the correct thread tensions without manual dialling. Lay-in tension makes threading quick, and the result is neat, consistent edges across different fabric weights.
The colour touchscreen guides you through stitch selection and shows the recommended settings for each program, so you can learn the machine at your own pace without reaching for the manual. Our team are authorised PFAFF retailers.
PFAFF sewing machines are designed for user comfort combining durable technology with artful operation. The colour touchscreen with stylus makes setting up stitches quick and clear, and the free arm gives easy access when hemming cuffs and sleeves. The hands-free knee lifter raises the presser foot so both hands stay on the fabric, and five bright LED lights keep the sewing area well lit. A soft-grip handwheel and built-in safety lock round out a machine that is comfortable to use for long sessions. PFAFF's printed manual covers each stitch and function in detail, so you can work through the machine's full feature set at your own pace.
PFAFF admire air 7000: A Machine for Every Maker
And every project
Dressmaking and Garment Finishing
For dressmakers, the admire air 7000 gives ready-to-wear finishes at home. Overlocked seams, coverstitch hems and a 5-thread safety stitch for seams that take real wear. The free arm makes cuffs, sleeves and waistbands straightforward to reach.
Knits and Stretch Fabrics
Differential feed is what makes this machine suit knits and jersey, feeding stretchy fabric evenly so hems and seams sit flat. Coverstitch hems give the professional twin-line finish you see on shop-bought t-shirts, so activewear and everyday knitwear come out looking properly made.
Bigger and Bulkier Projects
The 123mm workspace and included extension table give you room for larger makes and home furnishings and the extra presser foot height accommodates heavier layers. Whether finishing curtains, bags or thick seams, there is space and clearance to feed bulky fabric through cleanly.

One-Touch Air Threading
One button sends a jet of air through the looper channels, threading them automatically and removing the fiddliest job on any overlocker.

Select any of the 26 programs on the colour screen and the machine sets thread tensions, stitch length and cutting settings automatically, so the correct setup loads without manual dialling.
2 to 5 Thread System
The machine runs on 2, 3, 4 or 5 threads, giving fine overlocking on lightweight fabric through to a 5-thread safety stitch for strong construction seams, with a 2-thread converter included.
Differential Feed
Two sets of feed dogs move at adjustable rates and setting them higher gathers lightweight fabric automatically for ruffles and frills.
Coverstitch and Chainstitch

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the PFAFF admire air 7000 suitable for a first-time overlocker owner?
Yes. Threading often deters beginners, but the one-touch air threading handles it for you. The colour touchscreen also sets tension and stitch length automatically when you choose a program, so there's very little manual setup before you can start sewing.
What Is the Difference Between an Overlocker and a Coverlock Machine?
An overlocker trims and finishes fabric edges, while a coverlock does that and adds coverstitch and chainstitch, which are the twin-line hems and seams you see on ready-to-wear clothing. The admire air 7000 is a coverlock, so it replaces two separate machines and handles both edge finishing and professional hemming.
Do I need to buy an extension table separately?
No. The extension table is included and adds around 30cm of extra workspace, along with a separate coverstitch table for hemming work. Both come in the box, so you have the surface space for larger projects from the start.
Can it handle knit and stretch fabrics without puckering?
Yes. The differential feed feeds stretchy fabric evenly so it does not pucker and the same system gathers lightweight fabric when set higher.
How many threads does the machine use?
It runs on 2, 3, 4 or 5 threads depending on the finish you need, from fine 2-thread overlocking on delicate fabric to up to a 5-thread safety stitch for durable seams. A 2-thread converter is included to switch between configurations.
Our standard width fabric can be cut as a Fat Quarter, measuring 50cm x 1/2 the width of the bolt. Above is an example of how your fabric will be received, depending on the quantity ordered.
We also offer a sample service, where you can order 1 single fat quarter of any standard width fabric, to have at home and compare colours. When you are finished, you can send them back to us for a refund (feel free to contact us for more information on this service).
Our fabric can be cut as a Long Quarter, measuring a minimum of 25cm x width of bolt. We will supply the fabric as a continuous length (eg; if you bought 1.25m it will be sent as one piece of fabric).
