Janome CoverPro 2000CPX Product Review and Demonstration
The Janome CoverPro 2000CPX is the industry-standard choice for sewers who work regularly with knits and stretch fabrics. It produces the clean, twin or triple line hems you see on ready-to-wear t-shirts, activewear and swimwear, which means your finished garments look professionally made. From securing stretchy fabrics to adding decorative details, it offers capabilities that standard sewing machines and overlockers can't match, making it a game-changer for ambitious sewists.
Setup is straightforward thanks to colour-coded threading. The Seam Tightening System (STS) keeps flat stitches tight and even, and the Tension Level Control lets you adjust for fine fabrics with no re-threading needed. Adjustable differential feed keeps stretchy material flat and ripple-free when you hem jersey and lightweight knits.
What sets this machine apart is its build. An extra-large bed gives you room to manage bigger projects, while the free arm lets you hem sleeves and cuffs with easy access. With 1, 2 or 3 needle options for chain, cover and triple cover stitch, plus speeds up to 1,000 stitches per minute and clear LED lighting, the 2000CPX handles everything from topstitching to heavy-duty hems. It is a coverstitch machine, not an overlocker, which means it pairs best alongside one.
Its robust build and advanced capabilities make it an essential addition to any sewing room, enabling you to create flawless results on a wide range of fabrics.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Janome CoverPro 2000CPX
Let us help with the answers.
Is the Janome CoverPro 2000CPX a replacement for an overlocker?
No. The 2000CPX is a dedicated coverstitch machine, so it does not trim seams. It creates hems, cover stitches and chain stitches, and works best alongside an overlocker.
What stitches can the Janome CoverPro 2000CPX produce?
Using 1, 2 or 3 needles, it sews double chain stitch, 3mm and 6mm double needle cover stitch, and 6mm triple needle cover stitch, giving you durable seams, hems and decorative finishes.
Is the Janome CoverPro 2000CPX easy to thread?
Yes. Colour-coded threading and easy chain looper threading let you follow the guides for a quick setup. The Tension Level Control also adjusts via a lay-in lever with no re-threading needed.
Can it handle stretchy fabrics without rippling?
Yes. The adjustable differential feed runs from 0.5 to 2.25, which keeps knits and difficult fabrics flat and even, preventing the wavy hems that stretch fabrics can produce.
What warranty comes with this machine?
The Janome CoverPro 2000CPX includes a 2-year parts and labour warranty. You can extend this to a maximum of 5 years within 30 days of purchase.
What makes the free arm useful?
The free arm gives all-round access for hemming sleeves, cuffs and trouser legs, which means tubular items are far easier to finish neatly.
Our standard width fabric can be cut as a Fat Quarter, measuring 50cm x 1/2 the width of the bolt. Above is an example of how your fabric will be received, depending on the quantity ordered.
We also offer a sample service, where you can order 1 single fat quarter of any standard width fabric, to have at home and compare colours. When you are finished, you can send them back to us for a refund (feel free to contact us for more information on this service).
Our fabric can be cut as a Long Quarter, measuring a minimum of 25cm x width of bolt. We will supply the fabric as a continuous length (eg; if you bought 1.25m it will be sent as one piece of fabric).
