A trip to Venice became the heart of the Songbird collection, drawing inspiration from the elegance and romance of Art Nouveau. Throughout the city, Stile Liberty reveals itself in ornate architecture, historic cafés, Murano glass chandeliers, hidden gardens and the dreamy pace of Venetian life. All of it reminiscent of the graceful, decorative linework that defined the era.

The hand-illustrated patterns in Songbird offer a gentle homage to those intricate Art Nouveau motifs. Rather than recreating them fully, Songbird captures their spirit in a lighter, more whimsical way - especially within the Cora, Aubrey and Songbird designs. The palette is soft and airy, filled with dusty pastels. While not historically true to the bold hues of early 1900s design, these toned-down colours help balance the intricacy of the patterns and create a delicate, watercolour feel.
