Pfaff Ambition 620 Sewing Machine Review
Just take one look at the Pfaff Ambition 620 Sewing Machine.
She’s a beauty, isn’t she? The teal face plate is just so happy and fun that you’ll want to be sitting at this machine all day every day! It’s soothing to look at but also energising in the best way. You’ll love to have this pop of colour in your sewing studio, bringing you joy every time you look at it!
You’ll love that this machine is computerised. The LCD screen is well placed and very easy to see and read at a medium size of 3inches x 2inches. This screen is brightly lit without being blinding or distracting while sewing. You won’t be squinting to read it, either, making your sewing experience easier on your eyes and much more enjoyable.
Many Pfaff sewing machines come with an amazing even feed system built into the machine. They’ve included this feature in most of their machines for many years! The Original IDT system will help to keep your fabrics straight and together correctly as they feed through the sewing machine. You’re much less likely to have wonky lines of stitches or to have any puckers where they aren’t wanted.
There’s no need to purchase an extra walking foot since the presser foot itself already has its own set of feed dogs on it with the Original IDT System, moving the fabric through evenly. It’s more precise than a normal walking foot, too, as the top feed is moving at the exact same rate as the bottom feed dogs. While a walking foot does a really good job at feeding fabric evenly, it is possible for a few mistakes here and there, but the IDT System is much more accurate at all times!
One of our favourite features of this machine is that it has a jam proof rotary hook. No more nests of thread in your feed dogs or bobbin casing! You won’t have to take your tweezers to the machine to clean out thread shreds that are stuck, nor will you have to stop sewing as often to fix the problem. It will save you time and strife having this jam proof rotary hook in your sewing machine!
Preprogrammed into the machine, you’ll find 137 stitches to choose from. And 7 of them are automatic 1-step buttonholes. There is fair amount of decorative stitches included on top of all of the utility stitches you have at your disposal. You’ll be able to change the length and width of your stitches, too, with the touch of a button. Stitches can be made to be up to 7mm in width on the Ambition 620.
Working space won’t be an issue with this machine, either! There is 7.5 inches of workspace to the right of the needle on the Pfaff Ambition 620 sewing machine. You can fit a lot of fabric in the throat space, so don’t be afraid to run a large quilt through it! You’ll find that quilting and binding are easier with the amount of working space you’ll have with this sewing machine.
So, what’s included in the Pfaff Ambition 620’s box? More than you might think! You’ll be set to get started sewing as soon as you get this baby home and on your sewing table!

With all of those accessories already included what more could a sewist want? An extension table, of course! Every sewist should have an extension table to go with their sewing machine. It helps to create a much larger working space, making it easier to manoeuvre your fabric and keep your seams straight. It’s something that we think belongs in every sewing room.
Why not grab a magnetic seam guide while you’re at it? It will help you to keep your fabrics straight when you sew at faster speeds. It’s an extra piece to really make the most out of the IDT system as well as the extension table. It’s perfect for piecing quilts, really keep your seams straight, as well as binding quilts so you don’t have any twists or odd edges sticking out. Seam guides are also great for beginning sewists who might not feel as confident in their skills quite yet. They’re also great for anyone who might have troubles with their hands. Shakey hands make for shakey seams, but with a seam guide that’s not a problem!
