The Janome M200QDC Sewing Machine is computerised with an LCD screen that tells you what stitch you’re on as well as stitch length, width, and which presser foot you should be using. It’s not a large screen, but still big enough to see without straining.
Because it’s computerised, sewing machines like this can perform more than just your basic utility stitches. The M200QDC has 200 stitches programmed into it. You’ll have access to buttonholes of many varieties, decorative stitches, and variations on utility stitches that will make your sewing experience more varied and, let’s be honest, fun! Let’s talk about the 12 included buttonholes: Janome has included buttonholes for all types of garments and fabrics. A knit needs a buttonhole stitch that allows for stretching without distorting the buttonhole, so having access to many different kinds of buttonhole stitches will really expand your repertoire of what you can create with your sewing machine! And! They’re all 1-step buttonholes, so all you have to do is set the foot, set the fabric, load the button into the foot for correct sizing, and away it goes!
You’ll be able to customise your stitches as you need to, too. You can get up to a maximum stitch width of 7mm and a maximum length of 5mm. That’s a lot of options to work with when you have 200 different stitches that can be customised!
This sewing machine is average in speed. It sews at a maximum speed of 820 stitches per minute, which is a decent speed for a sewing machine of its calibre. And you can control the speed using the convenient speed slider on the front of the machine and the pressure-sensitive foot control that comes with the machine.
You’ll find that this machine has a few features that were previously only found on luxury machines. It has an automatic thread cutter, a start/stop button, and a bright LED lamp that will allow you to see your projects in great light and avoid shadows. And with Janome machines, you get to use the Superior Feed System (SFS) 7 Piece Feed Dog system they have installed in most of their models. It grabs your fabric to feed it as evenly as possible. If you want to make that feed more even, you can always attach the walking foot that comes with the machine in a package of extra feet that are included! 
This machine doesn’t skimp on workspace! On the machine you’ll find 6 inches of workspace to the right of the needle, but that’s not all you get! This machine comes with an extension table, so you can easily sew larger projects. And you’ll have access to a free arm so that you can easily sew a cuff on any shirt. There are so many options that you can really create anything with this machine!
If you’re someone who needs a machine that can travel easily to and from class or to take on retreats, or someone who needs to be able to store it away when you’re not using it, you’ll appreciate that this sewing machine is small, lightweight, and comes with a hard plastic cover. It’s 410mm wide by 300mm tall by 180mm deep and weighs in at 6.4kg.
