Janome Atelier 6 Sewing Machine Review

We’re going to tell you all about the Janome Atelier 6 Sewing Machine. It’s a great machine that comes with many features that you’d expect on a luxury machine, but for a middle-of-the-road price that’s quite tempting!

The Atelier 6 is programmed with 200 stitches. 10 of those stitches are automatic 1-step buttonholes for all your dressmaking needs. It also includes 4 different alphabets- perfect for making quilt labels or monograming your projects! You’ll also be able to customise each stitch in length and width. You can get up to a maximum of 9mm in width and 5mm in length! That’s a lot that’s customisable for any project you can think of!

You’ll notice that the Atelier 6 has a large control panel with an LCD screen. Each button is marked so that you can make sure that you’re choosing the right stitch or customising them to your liking. It’s not too bright that you’ll end up straining your eyes and the buttons are easily pushed so that no fingers are sore. It even comes with a stylus to help you save your fingers and your screen over time.

The Atelier 6 has a fast but quiet motor. It clocks in at a whopping 1,000 stitches per minute. But, if that much speed is overwhelming or intimidating at all, you can control the maximum speed with the speed control slider on the front of the sewing machine. You’ll love how quiet the machine is, too!

This machine also features easy-change needle plates for when you want to switch between a straight stitch and the stitch plate that allows for zig-zag or decorative stitches. It’s released by a lever underneath the workspace and replaced simply by snapping it into place- it’s that easy!

The Atelier 6 is a medium-sized sewing machine. While it’s not the smallest or lightest machine on the market, it’s still a good machine to take to your favourite classes or retreats. This machine is 510mm wide by 316mm in height by 236mm deep. And it has plenty of workspace even without an extension table! You’ll find that you have 8 inches of workspace to the right of the needle. That’s plenty of space to quilt a large quilt yourself with the Atelier 6!

If you’re looking for a machine that comes with a knee lift, then you want to take a look at the Atelier 6 sewing machine. It’s incredibly helpful for those who like to always have two hands on their project. The knee lift allows you to control the presser foot with the movement of your knee against the lever that plugs right into the front of the machine and hangs below the table for easy access. It ups your sewing game as you’ll be able to manipulate the fabric much easier.
