This machine is one of the most versatile sewing machines on the market, and any person at any level of sewing skill will enjoy working with this machine. It doesn’t matter if you’re brand new to sewing or have been sewing for many years, this machine will become your best friend no matter what your preferred project is! It can sew beautiful garments and dynamic quilts with ease, with this model proving one of our best selling Janome sewing machines.
The Janome 5270QDC is stacked with stitches for you to use! Already programmed into the machine are 270 different stitch varieties. In that 270 are 12 buttonholes, 100 different alphabet and punctuation stitches, plus 88 European letters. With all of those letters and numbers, you can easily create tags for all your work and you’ll be able to create amazing quilts, garments, and anything else you put your mind to with the great variety of utility and decorative stitches!
This sewing machine is something a little extra special. Not only is it built with an Aluminium Diecast Body that Janome is known for, but it is also built with improved durability from a thicker needle and pressure bar. Sometimes the downfall of a sewing machine is a cracked needle or pressure bar, and the fact that Janome is doing what they can to avoid that issue means that they know their machines and are listening to what sewers need in a sewing machine. It’s one of the things we appreciate from the Janome brand!
One of our favourite features of this machine is that it comes with a knee lift! If you like to keep your hands on your work, then you’re going to love this feature. A knee lift allows you to lift and lower the presser foot without using the lever behind the needle. Instead, you’re going to use the knee lift lever, plugged into the round port on the front of the sewing machine, and simply bump your knee against it to lift the foot. It’s perfect for delicate projects, especially garments, and for when you’re binding a quilt! You can leave the needle down but lift the foot so that you can easily pivot your project. How convenient is that?!
Speaking of convenience, this machine has other convenient features that will help you, the sewer, in luxurious ways. You’ll love the automatic thread cutter that trims your thread tails a little bit closer to your project, and the snap on presser feet for quick changes between stitches, plus the three different optic magnifiers that come with the Janome 5270QDC! These three optic magnifiers help you see your work up close and personal without having to pull your work away from the needle. They’re great for anyone who doesn’t want to strain their eyes while they work!
This machine has a good amount of working space, too! You’ll love the extension table that comes with the machine and you’ll have plenty of room to work without it, having 6 inches of workspace to the right of the needle. This sewing machine also has a free arm so that you can work on cuffs and hems with ease.
The hard cover that comes with this machine is awesome! Sewing machines should always be covered with at least a dust cover when not in use because dust is a sewing machine’s number one foe. But a hard cover like this offers even more protection! Not only does it protect from dust, but it also saves the machine from any bumps and allows you to store it safely if you don’t want to keep it out on a table all the time.
