This machine is great for all levels of sewing expertise, from beginners to advanced sewists. Just like most Brother sewing machines, It has a good number of stitches and features that any level of expertise will appreciate, but not so few that someone who has been sewing for years will get bored with it quickly.
The first thing you’ll notice is this sewing machines bold colouring. The Brother Innov-is A50 is certainly pretty in fuchsia! If you’re shopping for a younger kid or teen that’s learning to sew, this is a great machine for them! It’s not overpacked with features that it will overwhelm the user, but it’s not so bare of stitches that someone will grow out of it within a year or so. It’s a solid investment for any beginner or intermediate maker.
Speaking of the number of stitches, the A50 has- you guessed it- 50 stitches. That number includes 5 different buttonholes. Having access to that many buttonholes really gives the dressmaker a good variety.
You’ll love that it comes with a quick set bobbin. Quick set bobbins are easy to thread, easy to clean, and help you avoid thread jams! Making sure your machine is clean before you begin to sew your next project is key to making your machine not only work properly, but keep it working for many years to come. All it takes is a quick swipe of the lint brush that comes with the machine in between projects in the bobbin area, and you’re good to go!
Speaking of easy to thread, the A50 comes with an automatic needle threader built into the machine. It’s easy to use and makes threading the needle a breeze!
The workspace on the A50 is great for any small, medium, and certain large projects. You’ll find that there is 6 inches of throat space to the right of the needle. And you’ll find that this sewing machine has a bright LED light that really illuminates your working space so that you can see exactly what you’re doing.
