Brother 4234D Overlocker Review
It might seem like all overlockers are the same.
They all have similar functions, locking seams in your projects to create a better sense of durability and function. But the Brother 4234D Overlocker is extra special compared to other overlocker models.
The main feature that really sets this overlocker above the rest is in its storage options. The Brother 4234D Overlocker comes with built-in accessory storage. Having built-in storage is certainly not something you find with most overlockers! There are designated spots in the top of the machine for a needle pack, your screw drivers, and more, so that it’s all easily accessible whenever you need them.
This overlocker also features a pressure controller. That means that you’ll be able to control the pressure between the feed dogs and the presser foot in order to feed the fabric through at an even rate and avoid any fabric shredding that might come from too much pressure against delicate fabrics.
The Brother 4234D is capable of using 2, 3, & 4 threads at a time, giving you the option to really customise your work. It has 9 different stitch variations including a rolled hem. Rolled hems are a great feature to have so that you can finish the edges of many other fabrics without using an unsightly overlock stitch.
The workspace on this overlocker is wonderful! You’ll love the bright LED Work light that illuminates your workspace so that you’re not sewing in the dark and can avoid any mistakes. It also has a free arm so that you can work on smaller circular edges like shirt cuffs or trouser hems without having to wrestle the fabric and make mistakes because your grip on the fabric is tough.
It's very easy to thread the Brother 4234D Overlocker, too! Colour coded lay-in tension dials make for very easy threading. And rethreading the machine when you need to change colours is a breeze, too. You’ll find that there’s an automatic threader built into the machine as well, which isn’t generally found on many overlockers.
