Embroidery is a great way to add a finishing touch to any project.

It’s incredibly easy to create beautiful and fun designs for your projects or clothes. The Janome Memory Craft 550E makes it easy for anyone to learn how to embroider like a professional! It’s perfect for people who are just starting out their machine embroidery journey as well as people who are well versed in the world of machine embroidery.

Employing an embroidery machine for all your embroidery needs is an easy and fast way to add that extra decoration to any project. We know, you’re probably asking...

Janome 550e

“What can the Janome Memory Craft 550E do? Why would I want a machine that’s dedicated only to embroidery?”

The Janome Memory Craft 550E can stitch any kind of embroidery stitch. From the pixelated looks of cross stitch to the smooth beauty that is a satin stitch, the MC 550E helps you to create any kind of embroidery with just the touch of a button.

Personalised Gifts are super easy to make! Whether you’re using already-made products that you’ve bought from the store, like towels or backpacks, or adding that personal touch to something you’ve made yourself, it’s easy to make gifts that anyone would love to receive. Personalised towels make for great wedding or holiday gifts, and what kid wouldn’t be excited to go to school with their backpacks and pencil cases labeled with their own name? Or perhaps you have plain Christmas Stockings that you want to add names or a filigree design, an embroidery machine will be your best friend and help you work through these projects quickly!

Personalising clothing is another great way to utilise an embroidery machine! Add company logos to your work shirts, embroider a fun and colourful design on a jean jacket, even jazz up your collars with a lovely floral design! The possibilities are endless!

If you’re a quilter, you’re probably thinking...

"Why would I need an embroidery machine? I don’t make garments or bags, so what can this machine do for me?”

We have two words for you: Quilt Labels.

Quilt labels allow you to put your name, date of completion, and any other information you want onto a quilt that you give as a gift or is a very special piece that you’re entering in a show. Most quilt labels are just scraps that you write on with a permanent pen, but an embroidered quilt label is just… *chef’s kiss*

There are also a lot of projects that are called “in the hoop”. “In the hoop” projects are made completely with the embroidery machine, no need to take them to a sewing machine. They can be little bags, little stuffed toys, or even Christmas ornaments! Of course, these ideas are only a handful of uses for an embroidery machine. And the Janome 550E is one that everyone will love to use.

Let’s go a little deeper into the Janome Memory Craft 550E’s specifications.
The 550E is a 1 needle system – you’ll have to change your thread for each colour you’re using, but the easy-to-thread system makes it a breeze! It has a built-in needle threader to make it super easy. This machine also has automatic tension, so you don’t have to adjust it every time you rethread or change embroidery pattern.

With a USB port on the side of the machine- out of the way from any moving part- to easily load other designs directly from your computer, you can really stitch any kind of design you want! You can even design your own using a digitiser and load them to your machine easily. But, with 180 pre-loaded designs that come with the MC 550E, you’ll have plenty of options to work with right out of the box! It also includes 6 different fonts for monogramming, and you can create both 2 and 3 letter monogram patterns without needing to edit them on a computer. It can all be done on the machine via on-screen editing using the very large LCD touch screen. You can enlarge and reduce, rotate, flip, drag and drop, and have many more editing possibilities. You’ll also have thread sensors that will help alert you to bobbins that need more thread to complete a design.

With an embroidery-only machine, you’re able to stitch larger embroidery designs than with sewing/embroidery combination machines. The 550E has a maximum embroidery size of 200X360mm (or 7.9X14.2 inches). It comes with four different hoops so that you can embroider any size design! The 550E will stitch your designs quickly, too! This machine can stitch anywhere between 400 to 860SPM and you can easily change the speed to suit your stitching needs.

This machine is really an asset you’ll want to have in your machine line-up. It adds fun and beautiful personalised elements to any of your projects.
