Sewing with Sizzix Workshop: Hexagons
Tuesday 21st March 2017
10am – 4pm with Jeanette Reed
In this workshop Jeanette will show you how you can save time by cutting hexagons using the Sizzix die cutting machine. The hexagons will then be sewn together using the simple technique of English Paper Piecing, to make a project such as a book cover or pin cushion.
Jeanette will also be on hand to provide inspiration on how to use hexagons in other project, eg table mats, sewing roll, tea cosy.
Other methods of sewing hexagons by hand or machine will also be covered.
As well as your general sewing supplies, sewing machine and cutting equipment, you will need:
* Fabric Scraps (larger than 2 ½ inches square)
* ¼ metre of calico
* A piece of wadding measuring at least 15 x 10 inches
* Buttons to decorate – optional
Please note: the exact amounts of contrast fabric will depend on what you wish to make. Guidance on what you will need to complete your chosen project, will be provided on the day.
