Returns Policy

We allow our customers to return their items for a full refund within 60 Days.

We ask that items you return are unused and in a resaleable condition. In essence - you can handle the products just as you would in a shop, but no more than that. With regret, we cannot accept returns on fabric or items sold by the Metre.

We hope you find our returns policy fair and easy to understand. We are here to help you if you need any assistance.

Unwanted Items

You must inform us within 60 days from delivery date

Any unwanted items must be sent back at your expense, in original packaging and condition, as new undamaged, unused and in a resalable condition.

Faulty Items

You must inform us within 30 days from the delivery date.

Faults with products over 30 days old but under 6 months old will require investigation and maybe inspection to establish if the fault is due to a manufacturing problem. If it is a manufacturing problem then we will either repair or replace.

After 6 months it will be down to you, our customer, to prove a manufacturing fault. If it can be proved, then we reserve the right to further inspect the product to confirm a manufacturing fault. If after confirming it is a manufacturing fault, then we will repair or replace the item.

Cost of Returns

Any unwanted items must be sent back at the customer's expense. When returning items, we suggest for your own protection you choose a tracked delivery service that offers the appropriate compensation for the value of goods being returned.

Condition of Returns

Returned items must be returned in original packaging and condition, as new undamaged, unused and in a resalable condition.

It is important you do not use or interfere with the product if you intend to return the item, if the item is used or interfered with then it is deemed accepted as supplied. Items MUST be unused. If we receive items back in a used condition, a refund will not be issued and those items will be made available for your collection or a partial refund will be offered if the value has been affected by the use of the item or otherwise damaging it. This includes packaging and accessories.

In essence, you can handle the products just as you would in a shop, but no more than that.

Time to Return

After we have approved the return, you must send off the items intended for return to reach us within 14 days 

Refunds 

Any refunds will be issued once we have received the items, within 5 working days. Refunds will include the total of items sent, less any delivery charges. Refunds will be made via the same payment method you paid with... or, on request, we can credit your account with Reward Points to be used against future purchases with us.

Sewing Machines Purchased on Finance

If you have purchased your sewing machine on finance, and have started your repayments, it is not possible to return your sewing machine for a refund.

How to Return

All Returns must be Pre-Approved

You must request a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number to return any items to us. Once we have approved your RMA request, we will inform you with instructions on how to return the item(s) to us.

Exceptions

Fabric Returns

Fabric that is cut to length for each individual order, cannot be returned. We deem these products to have been made to order, and as such are exempt from distance selling regulations. Please order carefully.

In order for our customers to order fabric samples, we allow returns when you order a 'Fat Quarter Cut', as quantity of 1. You may order and return as many Fat Quarter Cuts as you like within the same order.

Please note, your refund will only include the total of Fat Quarter Cuts returned, and neither your return postage or the delivery postage costs will be refunded.

Other Exceptions

Items sold by the length, such as ribbon and elastic, cannot be returned. We deem these products to have been made to order, and as such are exempt from distance selling regulations. Please order carefully.

Sewing Machines Purchased on Finance

If you have purchased your sewing machine on finance, and have started your repayments, it is not possible to return your sewing machine for a refund.

If you are having a problem with a sewing machine you have recently purchased from us, don't panic, we can help.

Here at The Sewing Studio, we are always here to support you. Most of the time, a problem you are experiencing with a sewing machine can be solved over the phone, by email or with a video conference. It is very rare that a machine is faulty, and with a little instruction and coaching from us, we can get you sewing happy in no time.

Returning a sewing machine to us as faulty, can be time consuming and expensive too, especially if the fix or repair is not covered by your machines warranty.
