Amy Butler is an internationally recognized designer of fabrics, home decor, handbags, sewing patterns & stationery goods and has authored multiple books including "Found Style" and "In Stitches" (Chronicle Books). She works with her husband and a handful of employees in their Art of the Midwest Studio in the small town of Granville, Ohio.
Her products and licenses are distributed internationally, and she travels extensively to promote and research her latest projects. Her name is her brand, and it has become synonymous with her distinctive vision of design, a tireless pursuit of excitement, approachable ease, quality of goods, and creative fire.

Materials List
Allow extra yardage for matching or centering a design on your fabric.
For 44” wide light to mid-weight fabric
• 1 1/2 yards of fabric for the Exterior, including Handles and bias strips for covering the cotton cord
• 1 5/8 yards of coordinating fabric for the Lining
• 5 yards of 20” wide fusible woven interfacing (we use Shape Flex® SF-101 by Pellon®)
For 54” wide mid-weight fabric
• 1 1/2 yards of fabric for the Exterior, including Handles and bias strips for covering the cotton cord
• 1 5/8 yards of coordinating fabric for the Lining
• 2 1/2 yards of 20” wide fusible woven interfacing (we use Shape Flex® SF-101 by Pellon®)
PLUS
• 3/8 yard of 44” wide fusible fleece (we use fusible Thermolam Plus® by Pellon®)
• 1/4 yard of 22” wide single-sided fusible Peltex® by Pellon® or a similar extra heavy stabilizer
• 3 yards of 6/32” cotton cording (found in the home decorating department of most stores)
• (found with1 sheet of 8”x 10” Heavy Duty Template Plastic from Prym-Dritz the quilting supplies)
• 22” coordinating purse zipper (we use Coats brand zippers)
• 1 large spool of coordinating all-purpose thread (we use Coats Dual Duty XP®)
Finished Size: 14” wide across the center x 9 1/2” tall x 4 1/2” deep
TOOLS NEEDED: Scissors, Iron and ironing board, Straight pins, Seam ripper, Ruler and yardstick, Chalk pencil/Fabric marker, Pencil, Hand sewing needle, Pressing cloth, Turning tool (such as a closed pair of scissors), Zipper foot for your sewing machine, Schmetz™ jeans/denim sharp point sewing machine needle size 100/16 or another heavyweight sewing machine needle size 16
