Amy Butler is an internationally recognized designer of fabrics, home decor, handbags, sewing patterns & stationery goods and has authored multiple books including "Found Style" and "In Stitches" (Chronicle Books). She works with her husband and a handful of employees in their Art of the Midwest Studio in the small town of Granville, Ohio.
Her products and licenses are distributed internationally, and she travels extensively to promote and research her latest projects. Her name is her brand, and it has become synonymous with her distinctive vision of design, a tireless pursuit of excitement, approachable ease, quality of goods, and creative fire.

Materials List
FOR THE UPTOWN HANDBAG:
Allow extra yardage to match or center a design on your fabric.
-1/2 yard of 44" wide light to mid-weight fabric for the Exterior
-3/8 yard of 44" wide light to mid-weight fabric for the Lining
-1 yard of 20" wide heavyweight sew-in Interfacing (we use Pellon® 50)
-1/4 yard of 22" wide single-sided fusible Peltex® by Pellon® or a similar extra-heavy stabilizer
-3" of 3/4" Sew-on Velcro
-1 sheet of 12" x 18" extra thick Template plastic from Prym-Dritz™ found at most quilting or fabric stores OR 1 piece of 1/8" thick heavy pressed cardboard or purchased "chipboard" from an arts supply store.
-1 spool of coordinating all-purpose thread (we use Coats Dual Duty XP®)
FOR THE DOWNTOWN PURSE OR CLUTCH:
Allow extra yardage to match or center a design on your fabric.

-3/4 yard of 44" wide light to mid-weight fabric for the Lining
-1 1/4 yards 20" wide Peltex® #70 by Pellon® or a similar extra-heavy stabilizer
-1 1/4 yards of 20" wide fusible woven interfacing (we use Shape Flex® SF-101 by Pellon®)
-1" of 3/4" sew-on Velcro™
-1/2 yard of Boning (sold by the yard or in packages)
-1 sheet of 12" x 18" extra thick Template plastic from Prym-Dritz found at most quilting stores OR 1 piece of 1/8" thick heavy pressed cardboard or purchased "chipboard" from an arts supply store.
-1 spool of coordinating all-purpose thread (we use Coats Dual Duty XP®)
FOR THE FABRIC FLOWERS
NOTE: This is enough material and notions to make one large and one small fabric flower.
1/4 yard of one lightweight fabric for flower petal fronts
1/4 yard of a coordinating lightweight fabric for flower petal backs
1/4 yard of Wonder Under™ (double sided, fusible interfacing)
2 decorative buttons for the center of the flowers
2-1" sew-on craft pin backs and/or hair barrette backs
