Training Courses for your new Sewing Machine

We are an official Brother Sewing Machine Training Centre We are very proud of this, as there are only 3 in the UK!

We have Dee who also helps with providing training and support, Dee worked for Janome for x years, but has moved to Cornwall and now works for us as our secret weapon, although she still occasionally works for Janome as a demonstrator at various shows and other events, she is available at our shop Mondays-Wednesdays.

Sewing machine Classes and Workshops are available here in our classroom upstairs, however, if you require training for a specific sewing machine this can be arranged and tailored to suit your exact requirements.

The cost clearly needs to be variable depending on how long you want us for, what you want to cover, if its one to one or in a group and if you bought the machine from us. (Sewing Machine training can sometimes be free depending on the sewing machine you buy)

All our sewing machines come with a free demo if you come into the shop.
All embroidery machines come with free training if you buy on our website or in our shop.

A good domestic sewing machine should give years of good service however its very important you choose the right machine to suit your sewing needs, if you don’t it will bring you constant hart ache and disappointment every time you take it out to use it. We carry Husqvarna, Bernina, Janome and Brother sewing machines because we know these brands give good reliable service and we can continue to support you with regards to spare parts and repairs for many years to come. We also know these brands are well supported both nationally and worldwide should you ever need a machine service or spare part / accessory. We don’t stock unknown brands or even some of the better known brands because we can not guarantee any or the above.
The most important thing to consider is how thick is the thickest fabric you will ever want to sew with the machine? The machine can have all the features and functions you need but if it’s not capable of sewing your denim jeans or curtain header tape you will want to throw it through the window! The sturdier the machine is; the better.
